Families Anonymous is a world-wide collaboration of family and friends who have been hurt due to somebody else's abuse of mind-altering substances or behavioural problems. In 1971, the FamAnonmAnonwas founded by a group of families in America. They started their first group in London in 1980, and now around 50 groups are working in different areas of the country.
The fellowship is first formulated by Alcoholic Anonymous and is a self-help organisation with a programme based on the 12 Steps and 12 Traditions.
